Heartland Designs started the way most good gear does: with a problem at floor level. As a wrestling coach in Bennington, Nebraska, Craig Pokorny spent enough tournament Saturdays squinting at flimsy, hard-to-read match clocks to know the fix wasn't another cheap stand — it was a display built like touring equipment.

So he built one. The HD3 puts bright TV displays on the same truss hardware the concert industry trusts, wires everything internally so setup is one power cord and one HDMI, and packs the whole kit into a foam-lined ATA road case that shrugs off the back of a trailer. Every unit is assembled, tested, and cased by hand in Nebraska.

Today Heartland Designs kits — also known as Got Clocks — run mats and events around the Midwest and beyond, for schools, clubs, and event operators who need the crowd, the corner, and the scorer's table all seeing the same number at the same time.
